Not for Public View invites audiences into an exhibition of works that, for various reasons, cannot be shown.
The gallery space will remain in complete darkness for the duration of the exhibition. Visitors are encouraged to move carefully through the void and imagine the presence of works that have been censored, postponed, redacted, or deemed contextually inappropriate.
These are the works that institutions refused, misunderstood, or quietly absorbed into nonexistence. Now, they are here.
Not for Public View repositions invisibility as an aesthetic strategy — turning absence, denial, and erasure into a form of presence.
